According to a recent post by the High Country Press, Watauga County School’s best readers met to prove their mettle at the district-wide Battle of the Books Competition, and Parkway’s Blue team won the middle school event.
Parkway’s team consisted of Isabella Sibaja, Amelie Fawson, Sadie Hughett, Lauren Patterson, Olivia Burroughs and Olivia Beasley and was coached by Owen Gray. Mrs. Shableski teaches first grade and is currently leading the school play (Aladdin, Jr., with performances scheduled April 13-14). She holds her bachelor's in elementary education and her master's in reading education. Chosen by their peers, Mrs. Shableski is one of nine Watauga County teachers selected from a group of more than 300 teachers district-wide at all grade levels. Congrats Mrs. Shableski!
