Parkway School will set up and direct parking at the Valle Country Fair this Saturday, Oct. 15. This opportunity generates more than $5,000 in one day for our school. We desperately need fifteen more volunteers. The PTO will give each teacher $75 for class supplies for every parent volunteer, and the class with the most parent volunteers will receive an additional $100! To sign up for a shift, please visit: parkwayschoolpto.weebly.com.
Thank you to all those who were able to join in the Fall Festival fun; we raised $5,000 for our community school! Thanks, too, to the many volunteers, vendors, cake bakers, silent auction and class basket donors, food servers, and staff who made the event possible. Parkway PTO wants you! To stay informed, find us on Facebook @ParkwaySchoolPTO and visit parkwayschoolpto.weebly.com often. If you haven't already done so, please sign up via the website to receive email updates from the PTO. First opportunity is this Wednesday, October 11th, to assist with Lettuce Learn food tastings taking place in the cafeteria from 10am-1pm and 1-2:30pm. Simple food prep and serving assistance needed by Ms. Shannon Carroll, Lettuce Learn Co-Director.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The second is the Valle Fair this Saturday - messages have been sent already, but here is a more detailed explanation of the needs for volunteers and why this is such a huge fundraiser for Parkway School. Please share with anyone not receiving PTO emails. Valle Fair Parking - $5K potential for Parkway School You may have seen notes and emails about the volunteer request for the Valle Country Fair this Saturday. For everyone who is not familiar with the needs and benefits of this event, please let me offer some background information and details. What’s the big deal? Our school has a long-standing tradition of supplementing the PTO funds by parking cars at the Valle Fair. It is gracious amount of money – potential of $5,000 - earned with little prep and very little investment of money – it just takes TIME of VOLUNTEERS, on ONE to TWO days!! It’s fairly simple and several other schools would jump at the chance to take this fundraiser, so I’m told. Many families are away for sports tournaments or family obligations – so, any and all available volunteers are needed and appreciated. If you are in the area this Saturday with no plans or plans that are flexible, please consider volunteering. There is NO SELLING! The more successful we are with this event may mean we don’t have to sell other items as fundraisers. How does PTO use the money earned? Here is an overview of some of the big ticket items the PTO supports or has supported in the past:
You can see $5,000 can go a long way!! So, please make sure your friends are aware of this opportunity. Forward this email along to anyone who may not be on the PTO listserv. What’s Involved? Smiling and directing cars! You’ll be part of the one of the biggest visitor events in the High Country http://www.vallecountryfair.org/ There are TWO opportunities to help.
Before or after your shift, you can enjoy the entertainment, craft shopping (or admiring), or ALL the delicious food (can we say roasted corn!). High school age kids are capable and qualified to help also – make it a family affair if that works for you. Please help – sign up and/or spread the word! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d4eaaa928a6fb6-valle Deanne Smith, PTO Volunteer Coordinator (parent to Carson and Palmer, 4th and 5th grade, respectively) 828-719-7023/[email protected] PTO is looking for volunteers to help get cars parked at the Valle Fair. Every year, Parkway PTO helps with the parking for the Valle Fair. The Fair is on October 15th. This year, we are mixing it up a little. We are doing two shifts. The first one is from 7am - 1pm and the second is from 12pm - 5(ish) pm. We need as many volunteers as we can get for this event. As an added incentive, we are offering $50 to be given to your students teacher for everyone who volunteers. This is a huge help for your classroom this year. The money raised will also go toward funding requests for next year. Last year we raised almost $5,000 from this day alone. This is a great fundraiser, but we need your help.
